Dr. Howard Gluss is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, a respected Film and Television Consultant, Radio Show Host, and noted Author.  He began and still continues his private practice in Beverly Hills, California.



Dr. Gluss has followed his passion in understanding human behavior both as a creative artist and a clinical psychologist. As a young man, he came to the United States from Canada to study and work as an actor with the acclaimed American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.


Dr. Gluss also graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a bachelor’s degree in Drama and was an acting student at the acclaimed Banff Center in Canada.   While continuing to work in theater and television he followed his love of human behavior and received his Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology in 1995.


Life w/ Dr. Howard Gluss on KFNX1100 AM Talk Radio began broadcasting in 2008.  The one-hour weekly program examined current events from a psychological perspective with eminent Guests.  Former and returning Guests include a wide range of noted individuals from diverse fields.


Creating in 2002 the consulting firm KeyLight Company, Dr. Gluss has worked on many films and television projects aiding writers, actors, producers and directors in mastering their creative processes through consultations, coaching and seminars including 3 time Academy Award / 4 time Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz, 5 time Emmy Award nominated writer Richard Kramer and award winning actor Patrick Dempsey.


Dr. Gluss is the author of the acclaimed book, Reel People: Finding Ourselves in the Movies.  He is currently at work on his second book exploring successful people who self-destruct at the height of their success, When Dreams Come True: Surviving Success.  Dr. Gluss has been both a Guest Lecturer at the Los Angeles Film School, Los Angeles Film Festival, AFI, The Screenwriter’s Conference, and Write Bros.  He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors at The Vancouver Film School.


As a Psychologist, Dr. Gluss has been the Director of Psychosocial Services for a residential treatment center for the chronically mentally ill and taught graduate courses in Psychology, Stage Fright, Domestic Violence and Personality Disorders.  Dr. Gluss has provided substance abuse counseling for mentally ill parolees as well as taught and developed psychological programs for Attention Deficit and Learning Disabled Children and Adolescents.


Dr. Gluss’ private practice focuses on Psychological Assessment (Neuropsychological, Biopsychosocial and Forensic), Executive Coaching, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (Chronic Illness, Mood Disorders, GLBT Issues, Couples Therapy and Substance Abuse).


Dr. Gluss is also on-staff at the Khalili Center and K and B Surgical Center in Beverly Hills, California where he conducts presurgical psychological assessments and runs support groups.


Most recently, Dr. Gluss began his own Psychological Testing Service, Keylight Assessments for the medical, legal and corporate world.  Dr. Gluss has continued his education by completing Post-Doctoral training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis.
