In this demanding world, modern organizations must increasingly nurture self-awareness in order to develop an individual's abilities of reflection, organization, self-direction and analytical thinking. The Executive Coaching Program is a three-step process: - Assessment
- Skill Development
- Reinforcement
The entire coaching program primarily takes place over a three to six month period, but can be extended as needed to ensure success.
ASSESSMENT
- Evaluation – An evaluation of personal biases, barriers, strengths, growths, filters, attractors, repulsers, vicious/virtuous circles and diverse dynamics that may influence decision-making. An identification of the types and nature of the conflict being presented, the psychic structures involved, the emotions generating the conflict and any defensive operations present. A mapping and exploration of family history, parents, authority figures, religion and peers outside the immediate work environment that may influence behavioral patterns and compromises.
- Goal Setting and Assessment – Identification of goals, objectives, needs, wants, values, attitudes, beliefs, aspirations, desires and possible outcomes for both work and life situations. Use of reflective containment establishing or reaffirming boundaries, managing the performance of underdeveloped systems and working with psychopathological behaviors.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT
- Implementation – The development of the effective use of behavior modeling. The implementation of rehearsal, evaluation of life experiences, demonstration and role-playing. The use of brainstorming, problem solving, intervention plans, evaluation approaches, hypothesis testing, conflict and crisis management techniques. The creation of creative play interventions and “what if“ games. The application of active-empathetic listening, free association, evaluation questions and interpretation of clients communication. The use of process focused work on structure and content issues, reading assignments and organizational workshops.
REINFORCEMENT
- Behavioral, Organizational, Personal Management – Increase the range, flexibility, and effectiveness of behavioral choices, planning strategies, organization leadership and decision-making. Strategically overcome the obstacles that inhibit achievement. Increase awareness and understanding to tolerate ambiguity. Develop flexibility to effectively improve interpersonal relationships. Expand range of emotional responses and develop skills to understand complexities of organizational behavior. Improve skills at managing organizational turbulence, crisis and conflict. Increase insight oriented problem solving. Utilize tools necessary to become a great leader. Creatively handle conflict, change and transitions. Set priorities properly to maximize positive outcomes.
Organizations must yearn for leadership styles that will push them to new levels of creativity and growth by maximizing their ability to weave knowledge and skills into tasks of leadership and management. To succeed in this constantly transitioning world executive’s must expand their management abilities and deepen their understanding of issues that influence their performance.
